Author Guidelines

Original works shall be sent via Open Journal System (OJS) at the following URL: http://revistas.anahuac.mx/sintaxis. In order to do so, authors shall register and send their contributions alongside with the Originality letter and the Authorization for public communication of a literary work, both signed and in a PDF format.

The author shall commit to signing an authorization letter addressed to the magazine so that the manuscript can be reproduced electronically or in print, including internet.

Sintaxis. Revista científica del Centro de Investigación para la Comunicación Aplicada does not charge authors any submission, processing or publishing fees.

REQUIREMENTS FOR EACH PAPER

Original articles required: Sintaxis. Revista científica del Centro de Investigación para la Comunicación Aplicada will only accept articles that have not been published partially or totally elsewhere.

The magazine has two sections.

Editorial guidelines

Research articles

1. Types of manuscript: Articles with methodological structure.

2. Length: 15 to 20 pages.

3. Font, margins and line spacing: Times New Roman, size 12, 1.5 line spacing.

4. Title and its English version.

5. Abstract in Spanish and English, 120 to 140 words.

6. Keywords (five) and their English counterparts.

7. Author information: name, department, institution, e-mail, phone number, ORCID* code.

*Authors shall indicate their ORCID code along with their affiliation information. Those who do not have this personal ID may register for free at <http://orcid.org> in order to fulfill this requirement. In an article that is signed by more than one author, all of their ORCIDs must appear.

Manuscript structure

• Article’s title

• Authors’ name

• ORCID ID per author

• Name and charge at the institution to which they belong

Email (preferrably institutional)

• Authors’ brief biographical sketch, no more than three lines long, in a footnote asterisk (latest academic degree, current occupation, and recent publications).

• Abstract in Spanish and English (120 to 150 words)

• Keywords in Spanish and English (5)

• Introduction (including definition of the problema, objectives, methodology, and main findings)

Theoretical and contextual framework

• Methodology

• Results

•  Analysis and discussion

• Conclusions

• Critical apparatus’s notes. Use APA system, 7th edition

• References and bibliography. Use APA system, 7th edition. Include the DOI for each consulted source, as a complete URL, for instance: https://doi.org/10.5468/ogs.2016.59.1.1   

• Tables, charts, graphs (specify size, resolution, format, numbering scheme, footnote, source). Send them in an editable format, indicate source, number them.

Book reviews

1. Length: three pages.

2. Font, margins, line spacing: Times New Roman, size 12, 1.5 line spacing.

3. Title and its English version.

4. Author’s details: name, department, institution, e-mail, phone number, ORCID* code.

• Review of the work, highlighting its sections and content, as well as its novelty, originality and relevance to the discipline of communication

All the intelectual content in the present periodic publication is licenced to readers under the Creative Commons© figure, except if the author of said content had agreed to the opposite or limited said faculty to “Sintaxis. Sintaxis. Revista científica del Centro de Investigación para la Comunicación Aplicada© is distributed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International licence.

The author has unrestricted patrimonial rights and guarantees the magazine the right to be the first to publish the work. The author is free to deposit the published version in any other media, such as an institutional repository.

By being part of indexers, databases and reference systems, the articles published by “Sintaxis” will be visible and will be downloaded free of charge, not for profit and of a purely academic and scientific nature; in all cases, the moral rights and attribution rights of the authors will always be respected, the date of publication and the number of the journal to which they correspond. All the documents published by “Sintaxis” can be downloaded from the journal's website https://revistas.anahuac.mx/sintaxis and from the databases where it is indexed.

  

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • Sintaxis uses the Open Journal Systems (OJS), therefore all manuscripts submitted must be entered into this system. In order to do so, authors need to register and send their articles alongside with the Originality letter and the Authorization for public communication of a literary work (signed and in PDF) in the same submission.
  • The submission has not previously been published, nor has it been submitted for consideration at any other magazine (or an explanation regarding the opposite has been written in the Comments to the Editor.)
  • Submitted files should be in an OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF or WordPerfect format.
  • The text shall have 1.5 line spacing; 12 font size; italics are used instead of underlining (except for URLs); and every illustration, figure, and table shall be placed appropriately within the text, instead of at the end.
  • The text adheres to style and bibliographic requirements that are summarized in the author guidelines, which appear in About the magazine.
  • As long as it is possible, URLs shall be provided for references.

Artículos

Exigencia de artículos originales:

Sintaxis. Revista del Centro de Investigación para la Comunicación Aplicada solo acepta artículos que no hayan sido publicados ni parcial ni totalmente en otro lugar.

Artículos de investigación

En esta sección se aceptan artículos originales que presenten los resultados de un trabajo de campo metódicamente estructurado, los cuales deben partir de un problema de investigación donde se especifique con claridad el componente comunicativo del problema como categoría principal de investigación. Los artículos deben contener un estudio del estado de arte del problema, así como un marco teórico que fundamente el análisis y discusión de los resultados obtenidos en el trabajo empírico.

La estructura para presentar los trabajos es la siguiente:

  • Título en español e inglés
  • Nombre completo de los autores, incluyendo el ORCID. Especificar el puesto o cargo e institución de procedencia y correo electrónico
  • Resumen en español e inglés
  • Palabras claves en español e inglés
  • Introducción
  • Planteamiento del problema
  • Objetivos y preguntas de investigación
  • Hipótesis
  • Estado del arte del problema de investigación
  • Fundamentación teórica: marco teórico y contextual
  • Explicación del marco metodológico
  • Resultados
  • Análisis y discusión
  • Conclusiones
  • Referencias citadas en estilo APA, 6 edición. Incluir el DOI de todas las fuentes consultadas, como un enlace URL completo, por ejemplo: https://doi.org/10.5468/ogs.2016.59.1.1
  • La extensión de los artículos será de 15 a 20 cuartillas, en Times New Roman, 12 puntos, a 1.5 espacio de interlineado

Sintaxis. Revista del Centro de Investigación para la Comunicación Aplicada solo acepta artículos que no hayan sido publicados ni parcial ni totalmente en otro lugar.

Reseñas de libros

  • Título de la obra
  • Autor o autores de la obra
  • Editorial, país y año de publicación
  • Nombre de la persona que escribe la reseña y su ORCID
  • Reseña de la obra destacando las secciones y el contenido, así como la novedad, originalidad y relevancia que cobra la obra para la disciplina de la comunicación.
  • La extensión es de tres cuartillas, en Times New Roman, 12 puntos, a 1.5 espacio de interlineado.
