Resumen

¿Te imaginas que el sudor, las lágrimas o incluso la saliva pudieran convertirse en una fuente de energía? Las celdas de combustible bioquímicas (BFC) son dispositivos capaces de transformar la energía química presente en compuestos orgánicos, como la glucosa, en electricidad mediante reacciones catalizadas por enzimas o microorganismos. A diferencia de una batería convencional, estas celdas no almacenan energía: la generan aprovechando sustancias presentes en fluidos corporales.
